In most harems the ladies also had access to a dipping pool where they could cool off during the hottest part of the day. Some of these pools were even fed by a natural spring which meant that the water was always flowing. Bathing has always been a very important part of Arab culture, and this continues until this day.

Water has always fascinated Arabs, and when you visit modern day Dubai, you will discover that many of the residential areas have a lot of water features. This seems to be an integral part of the Arab spirit. Many Arab style gardens can be very soothing, and they are meant for relaxation. The homes are the same, they are very relaxing and are made for entertaining.
